| Call for Papers for Summit Forum on the Scientific Development of Cross-Straits Economy |

Sustainable development is the important subject concerned with people from all over the world. Along with the increasing in economy, we are facing the problems of the natural resources shortage, the living environment deterioration, and the ecological system unbalance. As the important way to solve these problems, Circular Economy is given wide attention, and is implemented in many countries. Taiwan lacks ground, water, and energy necessary for development of traditional industry economy, so resources and environment seriously limit the economy development, and the economic transition is an inevitable trend for Taiwan, and the industry flow to the cheap labor force area is also the inevitable economic rule. Through the increase of trade and investment, strengthening cooperation of science and technology, and increasing of the intercourse between the two peoples, Chinese Mainland and Taiwan have constructed an economic system.
So Taiwan Democratic Self Government League, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing Science and Technology Daily Newspaper Office, and Beijing Municipal S&T Commission, co-sponsors “Summit Forum on scientific development of cross-straits economy”, which is going to be held on 2008 October in Beijing, and which will research and discuss how to promote the economic development of Taiwan, implement the sustainable development of economy and promote the practical cooperation across the straits.

The scope of paper covers the following contents, but not limited to the literal meaning, and Mainland and Taiwan can be independently referred:
1. Construction of the entity of Circular Economy
2. Analysis of “twelve projects that demonstrate love for Taiwan” , from the prospective of Knowledge Economy and Circular Economy
3. Research on economic policy of cross-strait resources cyclic utilization
4. Cross-strait energy-saving and emission reduction, and Low Carbon Economy
5. Cross-strait Green Economy, Ecosystem Restoration, and Livable environment construction
6. Analysis of cross-strait finance cooperation and investment
7. Research of cross-strait Inter-industry Trade
8. Research of cross-strait R&D cooperation and co-establishing, and High-Tech Industry
9. Research on policy of cross-strait coping with high oil price in the international market
10. Research on policy of cross-strait coping with high grain price in the international market
