| Local Standard of solar energy photovoltaic outdoor lighting installation technical requirements is through examination |

Soft science research project “solar energy photovoltaic outdoor lighting installation technical support system” established in 2007 by Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, got the important achievements. Local standard of “solar energy photovoltaic outdoor lighting installation technical requirements” was through experts examination, and approved to be released by Beijing Technology Supervision Bureau.
Beijing urban area, especially the remote mountain area, road lighting is very bad. In order to implement Scientific Olympics and Green Olympics, construct the livable city, establish the harmonious society, and improve the living standard of the vast countryside, the Municipal Government put forward establishment of solar energy photovoltaic outdoor lighting installation in the country road and the villages and small towns community, which was well received by the masses. In 2006, several thousand sets of solar energy photovoltaic outdoor lighting installations were applied in the country road of Beijing suburbs and counties, and the street blocks of the villages and towns. However, as the products quality was irregular, their application effect had a relatively large disparity, mainly presented as: no unified technical standard; lack of rationality between the lighting function of the installation and the system configuration; short life and bad quality of lighting equipments; and no scientific and reasonable installation according to the lighting design function, in intense disorder, and causing enormous waste.
In order to manage scientifically, in 2007, Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and Agriculture Commission put forward the project of “ research on the solar energy photovoltaic outdoor lighting installation technical support system”, which was undertaken by Illuminating Engineering Society of Beijing. Among them, compiling Beijing standard of “solar energy photovoltaic outdoor lighting installation technical requirements” was one main task of this project.
Standard examination experts thought that Beijing standard of “solar energy photovoltaic outdoor lighting installation technical requirements” accorded with the national policy of energy saving and reduction of emission and the requirements of sustainable development, which provided reliable technology guarantee for standardizing and instructing the production and installation of the solar energy photovoltaic outdoor lighting equipment, and had great significance for the extension and application of environment protection, new countryside construction and the solar energy photovoltaic outdoor lighting installation in Beijing city, even in the whole country. Establishment of this standard filled the domestic gap in the standard of solar energy photovoltaic outdoor lighting equipment technology, and provided the technical guarantee for selection, extension and application, installation, and the safe and reliable operation of the solar energy photovoltaic outdoor lighting equipment.
