Aquatic Service Center of Shunyi District, depending on Sci&tech and having the courage to innovate, cooperating with Beijing Jinchuan Special Aquaculture ltd.co., imported 50000 American redfish fries last year, and domesticated them successfully for the first time. This filled a gap in aquaculture of Sea Fishes in freshwater in Beijing District, which is a new measure for Revitalization of freshwater fish breeding field, increase of Famous and Excellent Species of fishery, and enrich "Vegetable Baskets" of Capital people. It played the part of demonstration role for increasing peasants income, extension of intensive, efficient and ecological Aquaculture technology, and realization of industrialization of aquaculture of American redfish in freshwater. Also, it was a new highlight for developing recreational fishery to Promote New Countryside Construction.
American red fish, also named Sciaenops ocella tus, red sciaenoid fishes, red drum fish, red fish, spot tail bass, straight perch, black spot sheepshead, and atlantic sheepshead, belonging to Perciformes, of the family Sciaenidae, member of Genera sciaenoid fishes, is native to South Atlantic and the coastal waters of Mexico Basin. American Red Fish is Delicious, suitable for soy stewed, steamed, and barbecued.
Aquatic Service Center of Shunyi District would increase the extension of American red fish, by buying, cultivating parent fishes, expanding propagation, nourishing, improving and incubating it, desalinating, fry Rearing, over wintering, adult fish culturing, etc. Moreover, they would put emphasis on technical training of the raising households, so as to develop a professional staff, and do well all-around service for the extension of American red fish.
