| Intel (China) Co. Ltd. and Beijing Municipal Government Promote the Development of Source Code Software Together |
| | September 21, Intel (China) Co. Ltd. and Beijing Municipal Government announced that they will support Beijing local ISVs develop the technology source code software together.
Intel (China) Co. Ltd. will do great help with Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission’s “Set Sail Project” which is for the development of Linux. With Intel’s Optimization scheme of Linux, they hope it can promote local ISVs’ export ability of Linux and new product’s research and offers consultation service for local Linux’ s development.
Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission (BMSTC) and Intel (China) will cooperate to establish a Linux laboratory to promote the development of every activity. The laboratory includes a software test center which will test the software according to the standard of the international software, such as the POC test for local ISVs.
In addition, Intel will also run training courses of the open source code in some software institutes and middle schools of Beijing.
Do. Malin, director of BMSTC, said, “BMSTC pays much attention to the development of trans-corporation’s research organization in Beijing. And it encourages them to cooperate with Beijing’s enterprises with their research sources and to promote the ability of area innovation. Beijing is the software research center of the whole county, and its ability of software research attracts attention from all over the world. By the cooperation with Intel (China) Co. Ltd., it will help Beijing to keep and strengthen the advantage on the standard of open software further, and become an international center of source software.”
Shane Wall, vice-president of Intel’s sells & marketing division and director of channel software marketing, said, “We are glad to be cooperated with Beijing Municipal Government by helping Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission’s projects. We will promote the solution project’s adoption of the Intel’s open-mind standard. We have developed many kinds of recourses inside Intel, which can offer consolation and verification service for the government and enterprises based on the advanced Intel’s platform.”
