| 2007 Forum on Zhongguancun Intellectual Property Held |
| | In order to continuously improve the awareness of public and enterprises of Haidian District on intellectual property protection, build a kind social atmosphere of self-innovation, promote construction of Zhongguancun intellectual property protection demonstration area, 2007 Forum on Zhongguancun Intellectual Property was held on April 25, with the approaching of the 7th World Intellectual Property Day. The forum was jointly held by People’s Government of Haidian District and Beijing Bureau of Intellectual Property Right, and supported by Science Commission of Haidian District, Haidian Cultural Commission, the Office of Rectification and Regulation, Haidian Branch of Beijing Bureau for Industry and Commerce, and Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park Haidian Park.
The topic of the forum is Intellectual Property & Competence. The forum has relatively high level, abundant contents and warm atmosphere. Deputy district chief of Haidian District, Mr. Sun Baoqi, stated that CPC of Haidian District Committee and People’s Government of Haidian District gave high emphasis on the protection of intellectual property in the past few years, which can be concluded as “firm attitude”, “effective measures” and “outstanding outcome”. In 2006, the patent applications of Haidian District reached 11,312, accounting 42.6% of the total amount of patent applications of Beijing, which is 26,555. Among them, there are 7,414 invention patent applications which contain high scientific and technological content, accounting 52.1% of the total amount of Beijing and ranking first in Beijing.
Representatives from Beijing Bureau of Intellectual Property, Planning & Development Department of State Intellectual Property Office of PRC and People’s Court of Haidian District, etc expatiated relevant issues regarding to how to emphasize the protection of the intellectual property and found core competence from their own prospective.
Well-known compere of legal channel of CCTV, Mr. Cui Zhigang presided the presentation of the forum. There are more than 200 people participating in the forum, including leaders and staff of relevant authorities of the State, Beijing Municipal and Haidian District, enterprise representatives, experts, scholars, and news media staff.
